A sad day.

Today Glenn is attending a funeral for his friend Steve. Unfortunately, I can't attend due to work. Steve died Sunday afternoon outside of Parker. Their motorcycle group went on a ride to Parker for lunch and were on their way back when a truck pulled out in front of him. He didn't have time to react and hit the truck, flew 30 feet and landed in the middle of the road. He died on impact. Glenn was right behind him on his motorcycle. Had it been a few seconds after, it would have been Glenn. Steve left behind a wife and 2 young children, 4 and 12. His daughter's birthday was the day after the accident.

It's one of those things that makes you sit back and reassess your life in a big way. I realized that Glenn and I had been bickering a lot lately over trivial things that don't matter. Then I thought about the last time I had told him 'I love you'. It had been long enough where I couldn't remember. When he arrived to my apartment, he nearly collapsed and burst into tears over what had happened. He could barely talk. We just cried together and held each other close.

It has definitely changed the dynamics of our relationship. We hug more, say 'I love you' more and let the small stuff pass because it's just not worth it to argue.

We can be taken out of this world quicker than we think, so take a moment and cherish what love surrounds you!
Love you all!

Victory

First off, let me start by saying I love all of my friends regardless of how they may have voted! I know it can be a touchy subject, but I do not look differently at those who vote opposite my views. I am very excited about the new changes to come and I hope that others can realize that change does not happen overnight. Please don't panic if your election choice didn't win. One man does not control the country. Besides, weren't we all taught to give the new kid at school a chance to prove himself?
Good luck Obama. I think you will do just fine with our country.

Busy,Busy

There is so much going on right now between the elections, lay offs, and new jobs. I'm excited to see who will be our next president! I am sad however, about all the people I keep hearing about who are losing their jobs due to cutbacks in several companies. I was fortunate enough to have left my last job before they found out 46 people are getting laid off. I started a new job a few weeks ago and have been working a lot. I like it, but it's stressful.
The other good thing in my life is my boyfriend, Glenn. He's so amazing and I can't believe he is a part of my life. He has such a kind heart and fun spirit. We met back in May through our volleyball group and just started hanging out one night at a dinner gathering. We are pretty much inseparable at this point. He's from CA and wants to move back there too so we are planning that for the future....hopefully the next year or so.
Other than that, things are the same. Zoe is good. She loves Glenn and he loves her too.
Love and hugs.

Here we go!

I guess this is the new way to let everyone know what I am up to without them having to wait for a myspace post which I limit since so many people can see them. I'm heading into a path of a more Zen-like attitude with how things have been going.
Tomorrow my thesis paper draft is due for school and it's my last month of this non-stop whirlwind called my Bachelor's degree. I never thought it would end, but I am not sitting back and relaxing until that degree is in my hands! Good health and love to everyone!
